Now Hiring:
Director of Invesetments
San Antonio, TX • In-Office • Full-Time
We're seeking a Director of Investments to be a key player in the research, portfolio construction, monitoring, trading, and ongoing management of client portfolios while serving as a trusted investment resource for our advisors and clients.
Working directly with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), you'll help shape the firm's investment platform through rigorous research, disciplined portfolio management, and clear investment communication. This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines strong analytical judgment with the ability to communicate investment decisions in a way that builds client confidence — whether markets are calm or volatile.
You'll play an integral role in the investment process — researching and selecting investments, monitoring risk and performance, executing portfolio activity, and translating complex market information into thoughtful, actionable guidance for advisors and clients.
RESEARCH & PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT

Lead ongoing research and due diligence on securities, managers, funds, ETFs, SMAs, alternatives, and investment strategies.
-
Monitor portfolio positioning, risk exposure, and performance relative to benchmarks.
-
Execute portfolio trading, rebalancing, tax-loss harvesting, and model implementation across client and model portfolios.
-
Review institutional research and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations.
-
Contribute to and refine the firm's investment process, portfolio construction, asset allocation framework, and manager selection criteria.
-
Monitor model portfolios and ensure consistent implementation across custodial platforms.
-
Stay current on capital markets, macroeconomic conditions, and industry developments.
-
Evaluate strategies, managers, and technology to continuously improve the investment platform.
CLIENT COMMUNICATION
-
Serve as a trusted investment resource for advisors and participate in client meetings as needed.
-
Explain portfolio positioning, performance, and market conditions in clear, practical terms.
-
Partner with advisors to align investment strategies with client goals and risk tolerances.
-
Develop client-facing commentary, market updates, educational content, and presentation materials.
-
Help maintain client confidence through proactive, transparent communication in all market environments.
LEADERSHIP
-
Partner directly with the CIO on strategic investment initiatives and Investment Committee activities.
-
Represent the investment function in firm strategy and client retention discussions.
-
Help improve investment processes, technology, reporting, and operational workflows.
-
Mentor and guide junior investment or operations team members as the firm grows.
-
Help ensure investment decisions and communications meet fiduciary and regulatory standards.
