Planning Associate

About the Role
The Planning Associate turns strategy into action — organizing client financial lives, building planning deliverables, supporting client meetings, and driving implementation.
What You’ll Work On:
Client Data & Prep

Organize client financial information (accounts, entities, tax docs, insurance, estate documents)

Input data into planning systems and maintain accurate client files

Prepare meeting materials, planning summaries, and client dashboards
Planning Support & Case Work
-
Assist in preparing planning scenarios and reviewing tax and financial documents

Support advisor + planning team with research and planning analysis
-
Build clean, client-ready planning presentations and proposal materials
Client Meeting Participation

Join client meetings with the Lead Advisor

Capture notes, decisions, action items, and timelines
-
Prepare follow-up summaries and deliverables
Implementation & Follow-Through

Track planning tasks and ensure timely completion across all stakeholders

Submit investment and insurance processing tasks per advisor guidance

Coordinate with internal team and external partners (CPAs, attorneys, custodians, lenders)
Ongoing Client Support

Prepare annual and interim plan updates and review materials

Assist in tracking tactical planning items throughout the year

Support clients and advisors with ad-hoc planning needs
Pipeline Management

Help move clients through onboarding, planning, implementation and ongoing advisory phases

Maintain planning workflows and keep advisors informed on status and next steps
What We're Looking For
You make planning real. You turn complexity into clarity and execution. When things need to move, you move them.
You're a Fit If You:
✅ Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Accounting, Economics or related preferred).
✅ Minimum 2 years of experience in financial planning or planning support.
✅ Pursuing or interested in earning CFP®, CPWA®, or equivalent (preferred)
✅ Skilled at interpreting personal & business tax returns and financial statements.
✅ Strong communicator that can simplify complex financial concepts
✅ Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, process-driven
✅ Must become IAR-registered (Series 65 or qualifying designation required).
✅ Must pass a background check (required)
Compensation & Details
Compensation: Based on experience — includes salary and growth-based incentives
Status: Full-time, salaried
Location: San Antonio, TX (on-site)
Start Date: ASAP
